Sprinkling Regulations

Beaver Falls Waterworks District Sprinkling Regulations     

The Beaver Falls Waterworks District would like to remind everyone that Water Restrictions apply to all residents/businesses within the Beaver Falls Waterworks District.  The Water Restrictions apply throughout the year.

 Effective immediately, and pursuant to the Beaver Falls Waterworks Bylaw No. 192, water use conservation measures are in place for all areas of the Beaver Falls Waterworks District. 

 LEVEL 1

The watering days will become odd and even.

If your house number is an odd number you will water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6am- 10am and 6pm- 10pm for underground systems-12:00 midnight to 4:00am.

If your house number is an even number you will water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 6am-10am and 6pm-10pm for underground system-12:00 midnight to 4:00am.

Monday is an off day for all residents absolutely NO watering.

LEVEL 2

Odd numbered houses Tuesday and Saturday from 6am-9am and 6pm-9pm for underground systems-12:00 midnight to 2:00 am.

Even numbered houses Wednesday and Sunday from 6am-9am and 6pm-9pm for underground systems-12:00 midnight to 2:00 am.

Lawn and gardening watering only there is to be absolutely no driveway or vehicle cleaning.

LEVEL 3 

Watering of vegetable gardens only on Wednesday and Saturday from 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm for even numbered houses. 

Watering of vegetable gardens only on Thursday and Sunday from 6am-8am and 6pm-8pm for odd numbered houses. 

LEVEL 4

No watering. 

Regulations will be throughout the year NO open hoses at any time. All hoses in use must have a nozzle or sprinkler attached to the outlet end. ONLY one sprinkler per household on manually controlled systems can be used at any one time. Underground Systems are not to be used in conjunction with manually controlled systems unless approved by the board.

Excessive sprinkling on driveways and sidewalks are not permitted.

A soaker hose is considered the same as an above ground sprinkler.

In the event of low aquifer levels Sprinkling Regulation Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 will come into effect. All ratepayers will be notified by phone in event of low aquifer levels. A notice will be posted on the BFWD website.

 UNDERGROUND SPRINKLERS:

All underground systems MUST have a back flow preventer that is accessible and serviceable. Maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner and MUST have a rain sensor. Maximum total water consumption is 5GPM (Imperial Gallons). Once a new system is in place it should be inspected by Beaver Falls Waterworks District maintenance.

PENALTIES FOR NON COMPLIANCE

Individuals in non-compliance of the sprinkler regulations will be penalized – There shall be one written notice of regulations, which is hereby given to all water users. - First Offence – one written warning - Second Offence – water shut off DISCONNECTION FEE AND RECONNECTION FEE is seventy five dollars ($75.00) each.
